The Leo Goodwin Foundation, proud to support United Way of Broward County during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During these challenging times, United Way of Broward County is continuing their regular business of helping the community through more than 100 programs and in-house large-scale collective impact initiatives. In addition, they are working hard to support their partner organizations and the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. With a $25,000 donation, the Leo Goodwin Foundation is proud to help support United Way of Broward County in their campaign to provide individuals and families who are struggling to make ends meet with critically needed food and emergency financial assistance. “We cannot thank the Leo Goodwin Foundation enough for their generous donation to United Way of Broward County’s COVID-19 Campaign. They have stepped up in a tremendous way to support those impacted by the pandemic and provide relief,” said Kathleen Cannon, President and CEO of United Way of Broward County. “They understand the needs of the community and we are so fortunate that we can rely on them in crisis.”

Some of the programs the Leo Goodwin Foundation has helped support are United Way’s Food Assistance Program which include delivery of pre-packed meals to eligible shut-in elderly in our community as well as supplementing efforts by Broward County Public Schools to feed local students on free/reduced lunch (66% of Broward County students) by launching walk-up/drive-thru distribution sites for pre-packed meals and food, and doubling to the food banks they serve through United Way of Broward County’s program, Project Lifeline. ”We are honored to be long-time supporters of United Way and be able to contribute to their tireless efforts during this crisis,” said Alan Goldberg, President and Trustee of the Leo Goodwin Foundation. “The Foundation is privileged to be a part of the amazing work that Kathleen and her team do every day to unite the community and create positive change,” added Elliot Borkson, Vice President and Trustee of the Leo Goodwin Foundation.

The Foundation’s donations have also gone toward Unity Ways’ Emergency Financial Assistance which includes utility assistance, rental/mortgage assistance, food assistance, transportation, and household supplies.
